  • Do I need to make reservations or do you accept walk-ins?
    While we do welcome some walk-ins, we highly recommend reserving a spot in advance to avoid disappointment.
  • Can I make a reservation for a large group (7+ guests) or combine multiple reservations?
    Given the cozy nature of our dining room, we regretfully cannot accommodate groups larger than six guests or accommodate requests to combine separate reservations into a larger party. Due to the layout of our dining room, we cannot guarantee adjacent seating. Modifications to existing reservations may not be feasible due to high demand, so be sure to double-check your party size and desired date and time before booking.
  • How do I change or cancel my reservations?
    We understand that things can come up unexpectedly. No worries, though! We'll hold your table for 15 minutes, giving you plenty of time to round up your crew and make your way over to us. And, if you need to make any changes to your reservation, it's as easy as (pecan) pie - just use the Resy app or click the "Change or Cancel Reservation" button in your original reservation confirmation email. We also understand that sometimes plans change. So, if you need to cancel your reservation, we kindly ask that you let us know at least 24 hours in advance. That way, we can make sure we have room for other folks who are eagerly waiting to join us.
  • When do reservations become available?
    Mark your calendars! Reservations open 180 days in advance.
  • Can I make a reservation for outdoor seating?
    We understand the allure of dining al fresco, especially in our lovely Southern climate. As such, we will do our utmost to cater to requests for outdoor seating or particular areas of the restaurant. However, please understand that Mother Nature and availability may impact our ability to fulfill such requests.
  • How do I purchase a gift card?
    You can purchase gift cards directly through the link below, or stop by any of our restaurants to pick up a physical gift card in person.
  • How are digital gift cards delivered?
    Digital gift cards are delivered instantly via email or text message to the contact of your choosing. You can also schedule the delivery for a later date, making gifting easy and flexible.
  • Do gift cards have an expiration?
    No, our gift cards never expire, so the recipient can take their time enjoying a delicious meal at their convenience.
  • Can I use a gift card at all Poogan's Hospitality restaurants?
    Yes! Poogan's gift cards can be used at any of our venues within the Poogan's Hospitality family, including Poogan's Porch, Poogan's Southern Kitchen, Poogan's Smokehouse, and Poogan's Courtyard.
  • Can I check my gift card balance?
    Yes! You can check your gift card balance online using the link below.
  • Can I re-load my gift card balance?
    Yes! Digital gift cards can be re-loaded by clicking the "Add Value" button on your gift card's permanent digital link. (You will find the link to your gift card in your original delivery email or text message.) Gift cards can also have a balance added by visiting one of our restaurants during business hours.
  • Can I return or refund a gift card?
    Once purchased, gift cards are non-refundable and the balance cannot be exchanged for cash. Purchases can be deducted from the gift card until the value reaches zero. You can use the remaining balance on your card at your next visit.
  • Can I use a gift card to purchase holiday meals to-go?
    Unfortunately, Poogan's Hospitality gift cards are not compatible with our holiday meals to-go ordering platform and cannot be redeemed for these purchases.
  • Can I use a gift card to place an online order?
    Yes! We offer online ordering at Poogan's Smokehouse and Poogan's Southern Kitchen only. Gift cards can be redeemed at checkout. Simply select "Add Gift Card" and enter your gift card number when choosing your payment method. Please note that gift cards cannot be used with third-party delivery platforms, like Uber Eats or DoorDash.
  • Can I use a gift card for apparel, merch, or premium reservations?
    Gift cards are redeemable for in-person dining, private events, and online food / beverage orders through our website. Unfortunately, they cannot be used for apparel, merchandise, premium reservations, or third-party delivery platforms, like Uber Eats orDoorDash.
  • What if I experience issues during checkout?
    If you run into any problems during checkout, don't worry! Simply email us at poogans@pooganshospitality.com or call 843-793-4399 during business hours, and we'll help resolve the issue so you can receive your gift card.
  • May I pre-purchase an item or bill for guests with reservations?
    For security and compliance reasons, we cannot take credit card information by phone. To ensure your gift is properly received, we encourage you to use our digital gift card option, which allows a gift amount to be scheduled and delivered via text message or email. Please use the link below to purchase and schedule your gift card.
  • Do you have a dress code?
    Y'all, come as you are and make yourself at home at Poogan's Porch! We welcome our guests to dress up or dress down for their dining experience with us. So, whether you're donning your Sunday best or your favorite pair of jeans, we're thrilled to have you join us for some good old-fashioned Southern hospitality.
  • Is parking available nearby?
    There's a paid garage parking option for your convenience located at the Charleston County Public Garage, just a stone's throw away at 85 Queen Street.
  • Is your outdoor space heated, cooled, or covered?
    Our outdoor spaces are not heated, cooled, or fully enclosed, so they're open to the elements. We recommend dressing for the weather to ensure your visit is as comfortable as possible!
  • Do you allow dogs?
    We're thrilled to hear that you and your four-legged friend will be joining us for some Southern hospitality at Poogan's! You'll be happy to know that we absolutely welcome dogs to dine alongside their human companions in our outdoor seating areas. Don't forget to capture a photo of your furry friend enjoying some of our delicious cuisine! Share it with us on social media by tagging us @poogansporchchs for a chance to be featured.
  • Can you store my luggage while we dine with you?
    Luggage is a drag, which is why we've partnered with one of Charleston's most innovative services, BagValet, to bring our guests a convenient and affordable solution for their luggage. BagValet offers pick-up & delivery where and when you need it. Plus, their daily flat-rate fee allows you to enjoy your day for as little or long as you need without worry! When you book with BagValet, you schedule an appointment for pick-up at the location and time of your choice and designate your desired drop-off time and location. A BagValet team member will inventory your items before securing each piece of luggage with a tamper-proof lock. They take your belongings to a secure, climate-controlled facility and you're left hands-free and ready to dig into our delicious dishes!
  • Is Poogan's Porch handicap-accessible?
    Poogan's Porch was originally a residential Victorian townhouse and our front door is only accessible via stairs. We do offer several tables in our outdoor patio area that are accessible at ground level. Sidewalks near Poogan's Porch do have curb ramps available.
  • Do you have gluten-free options?
    At Poogan's Porch, we take food allergies and sensitivities seriously. Please be aware that while we have processes in place to minimize cross-contamination, we are not a gluten-free restaurant and cannot guarantee that it will never occur. If you have a gluten allergy or sensitivity, please inform your server when placing your order so we can take the necessary precautions to accommodate your needs. Our team is dedicated to ensuring that all of our guests have a safe and enjoyable dining experience.
  • Do you offer vegetarian dishes?
    Absolutely! We offer delicious vegetarian options, including our roasted mushroom entrée at dinner. This dish features sweet potato gnocchi, marinated zucchini, crispy collards, and Bourbonyaki, making it a flavorful and satisfying choice. Let your server know about any dietary preferences, and we’ll be happy to accommodate!
  • Do you host private events, like rehearsal dinners or bachelorette parties, at your venue?
    As much as we'd love to accommodate larger parties, our layout simply won't allow for it. While we'll do our utmost to seat your group together, we regret that adjacent seating cannot be guaranteed and tables are limited to six guests. For those planning an even grander gathering, like a rehearsal dinner or bachelorette party, we have some exciting news! Our other local venues, Poogan's Courtyard, Poogan's Smokehouse, and Poogan's Southern Kitchen, offer private and semi-private event spaces ideal for groups of 15 or more.   • Do you offer catering?
    Yes! We offer pickup catering with a delicious selection of Southern favorites, from shrimp and grits to fried green tomatoes to slow-smoked BBQ. Orders can be placed online at poogansporch.com/catering, with pickup available at Poogan’s Smokehouse (188 East Bay Street), just a few blocks away. Let us bring the flavors of Poogan’s to your next gathering!
